Job Purpose

The Human Resources Assistant for CWS provides administrative support for the Director of Human Resources. They are responsible for supporting HR functions, assisting with fostering a positive culture, and DOT compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Assistant plays an important role in the Human Resources team. Responsibilities include providing support in managing HR functions, fostering a positive and engaged work culture, and ensuring DOT compliance. The primary objective of this role is to contribute to initiatives that promote a positive, healthy, and engaged environment and workplace culture under the guidance of the Director. Duties include but are not limited to:

Human Resources

· Provide administrative support to the HR and Culture team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining employee records, and organizing training sessions.

· Assist in recruitment processes, including screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating candidate assessments.

· Participate in creating and updating employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

· Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for improving HR processes.

Culture Development

· Support the development and implementation of employer branding strategies to enhance the organization’s reputation.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate marketing efforts and improve communication channels.

· Support employee engagement initiatives, including organizing team-building activities and employee recognition programs.

DOT Compliance

· Assist in ensuring compliance with DOT regulations by maintaining accurate records and documentation related to employee certifications and licenses.

Qualifications

· Prior experience in HR or administrative roles preferred.

· Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable.

· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) software.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

· Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
