Southside United HDFC, better known as Los Sures, is a multi-service; community based non-profit organization based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Our company provides a wide range of services to our tenants and community members ranging from affordable housing and tenant organizing, to social services and activities for senior citizens.
Job Summary: The Development Assistant will provide crucial support to the development team in the planning and execution of real estate projects. This role involves assisting with project coordination, administrative tasks, research, and community engagement efforts to ensure the successful delivery of development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support: Assist the development team in the planning and execution of new projects, including due diligence, budgeting, and timeline management.
Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, organizing project documents, and maintaining project files to ensure efficient operations.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on funding opportunities, market trends, and best practices in real estate development to support project planning and decision-making.
Vendor Coordination: Assist in managing relationships with vendors and consultants, including gathering proposals, tracking deliverables, and maintaining communication.
Financial Tracking: Help monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Community Engagement: Support outreach efforts by attending community meetings, preparing materials, and documenting stakeholder feedback to inform project development.
Communication: Facilitate internal communication by preparing meeting agendas, taking notes, and distributing action items to relevant team members.
Sustainability Initiatives: Assist in researching and integrating sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies into development projects.
Data Management: Maintain and update databases related to development projects, stakeholders, and funding sources.
Additional Duties: Perform other administrative and organizational tasks as assigned by the development team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in real estate development, sustainability, and community engagement.
