Objective And Position Summary
Part of the housing program, this position will guide individuals to take successful steps towards a positive experience from initial intake to case resolution. The Intake Specialist administers and facilitates the processing of all applicants for the Housing Counseling Program and assists the housing team with the success efforts for every client. To achieve success in this position, the Intake Specialist communicates effectively with the public and performs tasks timely and accurately.
The Intake Specialist provides admin support to the office front desk when directed by NV housing program leadership.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with customers and the public in face-to-face, one-on-one, and group settings, by telephone and email or regular correspondence
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills, including proper telephone etiquette
Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using MS Word, Excel, and MS Office
Bilingual English and Spanish required

Duties
And Essential Functions
Assist in screening clients to determine the services needed
Respond to client questions over the phone, including initial eligibility requirements in English and/or Spanish
Conduct in-person and telephone intake interviews
Explain products, services, turnaround times, and schedules clearly to clients
Review applications, documentation, and disclosures for accuracy and timeliness
Ensure clients are ready for counseling sessions
Prepare or initiate new client files for Housing Counselors
Enter data into CPLC CMS database systems as required
Process and review housing applications for completion
Verify documentation for client appointments with housing counselors
Set up new tenants in the system and ensure files are created at intake
Maintain client records
Make follow-up calls to clients as needed
Monitor document expiration dates
Draft correspondence for review by the Housing Director
Coordinate meetings and prepare materials
Assist with scheduling and monitoring housing matters and deadlines
Assist in preparing monthly client reports
Participate in outreach activities
Provide excellent client service organization-wide
Work cooperatively with staff and the public
Conduct outreach to encourage workshop enrollment
Support counseling staff with workshop setup and takedown
Assist with program workshops and scheduling in CMS
Occasionally deliver documents to other locations
Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
And Competencies
Education
/ Background
High School Diploma/GED
1 year of experience in public housing, social services, or case management
Related work experience and education considered
Knowledge of real estate & mortgage terms, documentation, and home buying process preferred
Typing speed of 40 WPM
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
