The Integrations Lead is responsible for designing, deploying, administering, and supporting the IBM API Connect platform across cloud and on-premises environments. The role ensures high availability, security, performance, and reliability of API services while supporting CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, incident management, and enterprise integration requirements. The consultant works closely with architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure middleware solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, deploy, administer, and monitor IBM API Connect in cloud and on-premises VM environments.
  • Monitor platform health to ensure API performance, availability, and stability.
  • Lead and participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis activities.
  • Analyze logs and system metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Configure and manage backup and restoration of IBM API Connect subsystems and configuration data.
  • Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines for API build and deployment.
  • Manage the API lifecycle using the API Management Portal across multiple API catalogs.
  • Perform consumer management including user, group, role, and security configuration.
  • Administer the IBM API Connect Developer Portal, including portal configuration, Drupal themes, and UI/content changes.
  • Integrate third-party tools such as Elastic for analytics and customer dashboards.
  • Utilize Splunk for advanced search queries, monitoring, and alerting for failures.
  • Configure platform security using TLS profiles and native OAuth2 mechanisms.
  • Apply product maintenance patches, interim fixes, and version upgrades.
  • Support technical discovery sessions and provide architecture, infrastructure, and security inputs.
  • Define hardware specifications, networking requirements, and storage sizing for IBM API Connect.
  • Coordinate with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, security frameworks, change management, and release management processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational reporting as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience in middleware administration, API management, and platform operations.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, API lifecycle management, and automation practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, log analysis, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Solid understanding of security concepts including TLS, OAuth2, and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Experience working in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior technical and business stakeholders.
