Laboratory Team Coordinator Job in Joondalup WA at Edith Cowan University –

ECU’s School of Medical and Health Sciences are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced supervisor to oversee our busy Allied Health and Sports Science Technical team.

The Laboratory Team Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a team of technicians who deliver advice and support services for teaching and research activities in the Allied Health & Sport programs within the School. You will contribute to the ensuring a safe laboratory environment for staff and students.

Key criteria

You will have experience in providing supervision of staff and to motivate team members to pursue excellence in the delivery of services and outcomes through the resolution of referred problems and non-routine tasks; the effective coordination of leave, role assignment, rosters and activities; a proactive approach to performance management and the identification and planning of appropriate training and development.

Applicants with either Occupational Therapy, Paramedicine, Speech Pathology, Nutrition, Public health or Sports and exercise Science backgrounds are encouraged to apply as training will be offered in other areas. Understanding of occupational safety and health practices as they would apply to a laboratory or clinical setting where chemicals, biological materials and radioactive materials and irradiating equipment are utilised is required.

Be able to find practical and cost-effective solutions to issues.

Ability to set objectives, plan and manage time and resources

Excellent communication skills and willingness to support a wide range of activities

Following on from the interview process, the preferred applicant will be required to undergo a full medical and health assessment. This position will be required to participate in an on-call roster including after-hours, weekends and public holidays.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full-time fixed term position attracts remuneration of $85,551 to $92,301 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
