The Department of Criminal Justice Service is seeking a
collaborative
and
innovative team
player to serve as a full-time Law Enforcement Accreditation Coordinator in Richmond, Virginia. This position supports the Virginia law enforcement accreditation program and will work with the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) and Virginia Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition (VALEAC). This position, at the direction of the Accreditation Program Manager, will support multiple aspects of the Virginia accreditation process, including assisting with agency assessments and providing technical advice to agencies and assessors.

What you will do:
• Assist with the development and review of Virginia accreditation standards to address emerging criminal justice trends and topics.
• Work with and support VLEPSC and VALEAC to provide training and other events for accreditation managers and assessors.
• Market the accreditation program to increase agency participation.
• Support assessor activities and help coordinate agency assessments for assessors and participating agencies.
• Present accreditation awards to agencies during public meetings.
• Provide programmatic assistance to agency administrators, accreditation managers, assessors, and VLEPSC Commissioners.
• Conduct in-person and virtual training for accreditation managers and program assessors.
• Assist localities with the Certified Crime
Prevention
Community Process, including reviewing applications and presenting successful communities to the Criminal Justice Services Board.
Minimum Qualifications
What the ideal candidate must possess:
• Demonstrated experience as the accreditation manager of a currently accredited Virginia law-enforcement agency and/or experience as an accreditation assessor.
• Considerable experience interpreting and explaining to constituents’ information about Virginia accreditation policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteer assessors, law-enforcement personnel, agency executives, and the public.
