Role Description
We're looking for an entrepreneurial, relationship-focused professional to represent our marketing agency and develop business opportunities with enterprise-level companies ($10M+ annual revenue). This is a strategic lead development and business development role that combines research, relationship building, networking, and lead nurturing—all designed to get us in front of decision-makers and ultimately secure new client meetings. No marketing experience necessary.
Reports To: Owner
Employment Type: Part-time Contract/Remote and local to Triad area of NC (with potential for growth for the right candidate)
Hours: 3-4 days per week, up to 5 hours per day (flexible, as long as weekly hours are consistent)
Compensation: Hourly rate (experience based) + bonus structure for qualified meetings and closed deals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Genuine comfort and skill in networking and relationship-building
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset
- Comfort with technology and ability to learn new tools quickly
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent a brand authentically
- Availability for consistent, reliable part-time work (3-4 days/week)
- Ability to work remotely and manage your own time effectively
Highly Desirable:
- Sales or business development experience
- Familiarity with CRM systems
- Experience in B2B sales or lead generation
- Knowledge of marketing services/agency industry
- Existing network in local/regional business community
- Experience with LinkedIn for prospecting
- Previous networking group participation or community involvement
Nice to Have:
- Marketing background or education
- Experience in our local/regional market
- Existing relationships with target companies or decision-makers
- Track record of successful business development or sales

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Research & Identify Prospects (40%)
- Research and identify target companies with $10M+ annual revenue
- Qualify leads based on fit, industry, and need
- Build prospect lists and track decision-maker profile/information
- Use online research tools and databases to find opportunities
Nurture & Outreach (35%)
- Execute multi-touch outreach campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn, mailings)
- Make meaningful first contact with personalized, thoughtful communication
- Follow up consistently and build rapport
- Document all interactions and maintain lead pipeline
Represent & Network (15%)
- Attend and actively participate in weekly networking group meetings
- Represent the agency professionally at industry events and networking functions
- Build genuine relationships that lead to meaningful business conversations
- Serve as an authentic brand ambassador
Reporting & Admin (10%)
- Maintain accurate CRM records and prospect database
- Provide weekly/bi-weekly updates on pipeline and activity
- Track metrics and communicate results
