Mid-size Insurance Defense firm seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant. This is a highly responsible and rewarding full-time position that offers a competitive salary and outstanding benefits. Along with your resume and cover letter, please send your salary requirements.
This position will work closely with a handful of attorneys in our Seattle office handling court filings, reviewing motions and orders, general correspondence, and any other duties necessary to support the attorneys’ needs. The candidate must be exceedingly well organized and flexible. The legal assistant will perform a broad range of case related duties under supervision as outlined below.
Primary Responsibilities:
Drafting notices and preparing state and federal court filings (Pierce, King County)
Proofreading motions and sending courtesy copies to court
Electronic filing and uploading of documents
Adhering to tight deadlines provided by court and attorneys
Drafting and editing correspondence
Copying/Scanning/Faxing
Scheduling depositions and coordinating with court reporters and experts
Corresponding with opposing counsel and court clerks.
Interacting and following up with attorneys to ensure completion of filings and projects.
Document conversions
Relieving receptionist

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in law firm administrative position (insurance defense experience preferred)
Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures (Washington)
Experience with E-Filing in state and federal court
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
Must be detail-oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills
Must be able to meet tight deadlines with accuracy
Typing 55+ wpm
The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have superior communication, organizational, computer and client service skills, and be able to multi-task. The candidate must also possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and the desire to take initiative.
