AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage an Administrative Assistant supports the AG client on site at the United States Capitol Police (USCP), Office of Human Resources (OHR). This role will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist with the day-to-day operations of OHR. This position will manage the front desk and handle various administrative tasks. This role will require 5 days per week onsite at the USCP office at 499 South Capitol Street, SW, Washington, DC.
The WORK
Provide front desk customer service support for OHR services via phone, email or in person.
Have the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations efficiently and be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
Support OHR by providing phone and email etiquette answering direct calls, managing inquiries, and providing accurate information promptly.
Provide high-level organizational skills and will assist the Senior team members with scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining office records and filing systems.
Possess strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and team members, ensuring a positive and professional experience for visitors and callers.
Independently solve problems, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and handle unexpected challenges.
Ensure accuracy in data entry, correspondence, and administrative tasks, thus possessing the ability to pay attention to details.
The REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma is required; an undergraduate degree in HR or related field is strongly preferred.
At least 2 years of experience providing general administrative support.
Knowledge of MS Office
The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and sensitive information.
Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Experience in office administration or a related role is highly preferred.
Successful candidates will be motivated and eager to contribute to the success of the USCP OHR team.
The candidate must know how to manage time by prioritizing workload assignments and meeting scheduled deadlines.
Must have exceptional organizational skills and can juggle multiple priorities.
Excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail. · Excellent, demonstrated customer service skills.
Flexibility with their approach in delivery of work. Other Specifications
Must be willing to work 8 hour days at a minimum of 5 days onsite in a work week. in Downtown DC.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance following USCP’s fingerprint/criminal background check process, which is unique to USCP.
