Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are seeking an energetic, dedicated litigation legal assistant to join our team.
Qualifications
Must have 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced law firm as a civil litigation legal assistant or legal secretary (personal injury experience preferred).
Self-starting with a proactive work ethic.
Experience with case intake and opening.
Managing deadlines to ensure attorneys meet them.
Filing and service experience in California superior, federal, and appellate courts.
Knowledge of rules related to service and filing of pleadings and discovery.
Familiarity with expert designation and deposition processes.
Awareness of trial-triggered deadlines.
Comfortable communicating with clients and insurance carriers via email and phone.
Trial preparation experience, including preparing, serving, and filing trial documents, motions in limine, and exhibit binders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
This is not a paralegal hybrid role.
