Position Summary
The Seattle office of Ogletree Deakins, a premier, global labor and employment law firm representing management in all types of employment-related matters, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Paralegal to join its growing office. The role involves researching law, investigating facts, and preparing documents to assist attorneys. The paralegal independently researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents like briefs, pleadings, and appeals for review, approval, and use by attorneys.
This role does not require travel and offers a hybrid work schedule after a preliminary period. Our office is collegial and professional, committed to mutual respect. We prioritize career development and provide access to extensive professional training programs.
Essential Functions
Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys
Summarizes complex legal documents
Organizes and indexes case files
Determines and calendars deadlines
Performs legal research and data compilation independently
Files pleadings with court clerk
Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations, and complaints
Drafts various legal documents
Prepares affidavits and maintains document files
Prepares for mediations and trials
Assists attorneys at trial and in depositions
Communicates with witnesses and experts
Scheduling
Enters billing and expense data into the firm system promptly
Requirements
Paralegal certification/degree from an accredited college or university
4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in labor/employment litigation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Lexis Nexis, West Law, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, and billing systems

Benefits
The expected salary range for this Washington position is $51,500 to $98,500, adjusted based on experience and other factors. Benefits include Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, 401(k) matching, Profit Sharing, Holidays, Parental Leave, health and life insurance, HSA/FSA, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Assistance Program.
