Position Summary

The Medical Office Receptionist/clerical assists the operation of the agency in functions by answering the telephone and ensuring good office and patient communication with both internal and external sources. This individual should have a good understanding of services offered, knowledgeable on Insurance plans and provider scheduling. A Medical Office Receptionist/Clerical is essential to efficient daily activities.

Job Responsibilities

Answers the telephone promptly and quickly.

Answers customer inquiries and channels them appropriately.

Maintain HIPPA compliance.

Update required patient information, demographics, and paperwork regularly.

Confirming appointments and verifying eligibility and benefits.

Posting payments and reconciliation of daily close.

Preparation of Bank Deposit.

Routing all phone calls to appropriate staff.

Ensure the efficiency of clinic schedules to meet the demands of patients and staff effectively.

Keep records of materials filed or removed, using file cabinets or computers.

Manually or electronically files documents as assigned, add new materials to file records, and create new records as necessary.

Perform general office duties such as typing, and operating office machines.

Track materials removed from files in order to ensure that borrowed files are returned.

Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order.

Place materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.

Other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

One year related experience
