Description
The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting our healthcare practice by executing high-quality patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a physician. Our top priority is to deliver excellent patient care while safeguarding patient and employee confidentiality.
Hourly Pay Range: $16.39 – 25.00
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greet all patients warmly and efficiently check them in through the clinic’s system.
Verify and distribute patient demographics, collect co-pays, and accurately log payments for billing.
Schedule follow-up appointments, reschedule appointments based on physician schedule changes, and confirm appointments.
Assist with insurance authorizations.
Handle incoming phone calls, assessing the urgency of calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
Reconcile cash drawers at the end of the day, ensuring the accuracy of daily balances and banking records.
Maintain a clean and organized front office area, ensuring supplies are adequately stocked.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
Medical Assistant Certificate or CPR Certification preferred.
Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience required; 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Insurance authorizations experience a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish required.

Knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA safety and hazard regulations.
Experience in providing patient care to newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Thorough and organized in patient care and file maintenance.
Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with patients, employees, and physicians.
