Description:
We are looking for a motivated, member-focused, target-driven team member to join our Operations Support team as an Operations Support Specialist. This position will require the incumbent to work on-site daily at our Lanham, MD location.
What you’ll Be Doing…
FedChoice is looking for an Operations Support Specialist to process incoming mail deposits and payments, return mail, managing the mailroom and visitor door by providing support for mail, interoffice correspondence, and express deliveries. The position assists the Operations Support Department with Share Certifications, IRAs, various member and account verifications, and daily administrative duties. The specialist may also be required to serve as a backup to ACH processing.
Key Areas of Focus…
Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of assigned support functions, including-
Responsible for the daily mail teller processing, including processing mailed requests (stop pay, check orders, Verification of Deposits, Account Change Designations) in a timely manner.
Oversees the processing of returned mail/bad addresses.
Opens and sorts all incoming mail. Picks up and distributes intra-office mail. Prepares mail for office couriers. Prepares outgoing mail, including metering, special deliveries, certified, and registered mail. Delivers outgoing mail to the Post Office and pickup mail from the post office box.
Act as liaison with vendors (Shred-It, USPS, FedEx, UPS, Pitney Bowes, etc.) for services/deliveries at the employee entrance.
May assist with Deceased Accounts, Power of Attorney, Trust, and other Special Accounts.
Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Contacts office equipment servicing firms and arranges for service as required.
Serves as backup to the ACH Specialist for ACH Processing.
Provides some administrative support to the Operations Support department-
Assists with responding to incoming email requests from internal/external members in a timely manner.
Assists with vendor email inquiries/requests
Assist with new member account funding
Assists with reviewing Share Certificates and IRA Share Certificates and ACH Death Notice reports
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with area staff and management-
Communicates the status of projects and tasks to applicable stakeholders
Coordinates tasks and assignments with applicable stakeholders
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
You should have:
Minimum two (2) years of financial institution experience.
Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
Knowledge of Financial Service Advisor (teller) operations and procedures.
