This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.
Why does the job exist?
The Incumbent in this position will provide high level administrative and support to the the Hospital Administrator and staff in the areas of office administration, as well as, maintain records in accordance with all policies, rules and regulations, prepare on-call schedule, compose correspondence, maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
How does it get done?
Incumbent will be responsible but not limited to personnel actions, leave requests, property management documents, fiscal documents, work orders. Participate in weekly meetings, coordinate, organize, and schedule all meetings, appointments, and workshops to ensure the Nursing Director has no conflicts and is adequately updated on the changes and/or status of daily, weekly, and/or monthly schedule.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. The incumbent may be exposed to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable potentially violent behavior in volatile situations. The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, and some travel with the occasional overnight stay may be required.
