IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time Office Assistant to support the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station located in Placerville, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will directly and independently support the U.S. Department of Forestry, Pacific Southwest Research Station, Institute of Forest Genetics. This position will provide administrative support to leadership and their offices within the Placerville Forest Service Office. The Office Assistant will perform varied clerical and support tasks necessary to facilitate the goals, objectives, and priorities of the office.
DUTIES: Provides general purpose administrative and clerical support including:
Execute work utilizing Outlook, Calendars, Excel and Word.
Develop documents, edit spreadsheets, assist with office correspondence and filing.
Become familiar with activities and events on the Forest Service website to adequately answer questions and assist with projects.
Track general office supplies and vendor requests, make procurement requests when requested.
Process mail, UPS and FedEx: both incoming and outgoing.
Conference Room Management includs scheduling, maintaining supplies, and Video-Conferencing set-up.
Organizes site meetings as needed
May be asked to do other clerical activities as requested.
REQUIRED SKILL SETS:
Microsoft Office Suite Programs, with an emphasis in Outlook, Excel and Word
Must be familiar with entering data into Share point via Explorer
Calendar management, database management, and inventory and supply management
Excellent phone etiquette
Knowledge of video conferencing software
Sufficient vocabulary knowledge to ensure accuracy of punctuation, grammar, spelling and required formats
Operational knowledge of related office equipment such as printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Knowledgeable regarding access control for authorized personnel and visitors.
Must be able to pass a background investigation
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 3+ Years verifiable office experience
Must have 3+ years Microsoft Office Suite experience
Must be able to pass a background investigation including credit check
Excellent customer service skills and attendance record is a must!
