The Department of Sustainability Initiatives at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Administrative Assistant provides excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all visitors. In addition to “other duties as assigned”, this position may be required to be cross trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Answers the telephone and provides general information to the public.
Enters and coordinates payment of invoices and processing quotes for areas of responsibility in both PantherMart and Foundation accounts.
Completes statement reconciliation and ensures accurate and timely payments and communication with vendors. Maintains thorough vendor files.
Processes journal transfers as needed.
Inventories uniforms, supplies, and equipment; schedules maintenance and repair work as needed for the office, recycling center, and recycling vehicles.
Member of Earth Week Committee to include enhanced administrative duties which vary from year to year.
Attends and/or participates in GSU and related sustainability events, such as recycling drives, annual partner awareness events, etc.
Responsible for the creation and distribution of the monthly e-newsletter.
Maintains social media pages and posts updates as assigned.
Drafts reports and correspondence; processes office forms.
Schedules and coordinates meetings as needed; reserves meeting and event rooms.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; or high school diploma or GED and four years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Advanced MS Office experience.
Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
