Information Technology Administrative Assistant

The full-time Administrative Assistant for the Information Technology department is the front-end of the IT department and will greet people and communicate with users of all levels of experience. Responsibilities will be to professionally respond to requests coming in from e-mails, phone calls and walk-ins into the department. The Administrative Assistant for the IT department will manage IT contract renewals, track and manage all IT purchasing, be well versed with the IT ticketing system, and other various tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Proficient in MS Office and well organized. Experience managing contract renewals desired. Must be able to operate in a fast-past environment and be flexible to changes and willing to learn new things as they come up. Associates degree is required, Bachelor’s degree desired.

Assist the CIO on projects and schedules.
Handle the IT Support ticketing system. Includes looking up tickets, opening tickets, and assigning tickets to the techs.
Handles all IT purchasing using the Jenzabar CRM. Training will be provided.
Manage the renewal of IT contracts in conjunction with Purchasing. Track renewal dates, updated contracts and the effect on the IT budget. Training will be provided.
Manage the 1 Card system and generate DUNY 1Card sales reports. Training will be provided.
Receives packages for all orders placed and update the CRM to receive the packages.
Update the university phone system directory using MS Access. Training will be provided.
Provide general administrative task for the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
