Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrative Assistant to join our team. The Payroll Administrative Assistant will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a payroll team.

Responsibilities

Payroll Processing: Assist in processing weekly payroll for employees, including data entry, timekeeping, and calculation of wages and deductions.
Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate employee records, including changes in salary, benefits, tax withholding, and personal information.
Verification: Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to hours worked.
Benefit Administration: Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of payroll taxes, including federal, state and local withholding.
Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed, including year-end reports such as W-2s.
Communication: Address employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions promptly and professionally.
Record Keeping: Maintain organized and secure payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar role is a plus.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Bilingual is a plus.
