Full Job Description

Townsend Building Supply is recruiting for an Office Assistant to work at our Panama City, FL store location. The role of this position is to work closely with the store manager in the processing of daily work in an office environment. This position will require 8 hours per day Monday thru Friday for a total of 40 hours per week. When it becomes necessary, the Store Manager may at his discretion require additional hours if business conditions warrant.

This position is responsible for:

Respond to customer inquiries regarding product information, placement of orders, requests for pricing and provide customer follow-up when necessary.

Cash drawer reconciliation and reporting

Inventory maintenance including new item setup.

Inventory adjustments, when approved by manager or in his/her absence.

Assist with conducting physical inventory.

Generate Purchase orders when necessary

Reconciling of purchase orders to insure accuracy including cost, quantities and proper adders are included on purchase orders.

Banking and Post Office duties.

Perform duties of an Inside Sales Representative when necessary.

Order office supplies.

Accept payments and apply the payments correctly to the appropriate account.

Answer phones when necessary.

Working Conditions Include:

This position operates in a building materials retail store environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory. This position may also perform work in a warehouse setting, with some exposure to outside weather conditions.This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines, and photocopiers.

Specific Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To:

High school diploma or equivalency.

At least 2 years office environment experience

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Computer literacy and knowledge of current office technology.
