Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented bookkeeper to support a growing equestrian business based in Darien, CT. The Bookkeeper will manage all aspects of accounting and administrative services with limited supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is a self-starter with exceptional client service skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform all payroll functions, accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, and financial reporting
Perform general administrative duties such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies
Generate accurate invoices and present to clients on a monthly basis
Assist with planning, scheduling, and organizing events such as horse shows, competitions, and clinics
Build relationships and interact with clients, vendors, and service providers to coordinate appointments, deliveries, and other related services
Manage horse show calendars, appointments, services and other travel arrangements for staff
Respond promptly to client requests and resolve any concerns
Perform general administrative duties such as answering phone calls, managing emails, postal mail, and other correspondence
Manage and track all documents and expenses related to billing, traveling, client onboarding, liability releases for all visitors, vehicle registration and maintenance
Maintain up-to-date client information related to horse ownership, veterinary records, competition schedules, and membership renewals for horses, riders and trainers
Coordinate scheduling of facility maintenance and repairs as needed
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Experience & Qualifications:

At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting programs
Ability to travel as needed (<10%) Prior experience in equestrian industry strongly preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year Experience level: 4 years Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Experience: Bookkeeping: 3 years (Required) Ability to Relocate: Darien, CT 06820: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person Title: Office Assistant III (Animal Services)
