Position Title: Development Administrative Assistant
Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant will work under the supervision of the Director of Development and Marketing to provide faith-based donor support services, as well as theological explanations of ministry purpose and compliance, consistent with the religious values of Baptist Children’s Home & Family Services. In addition, the Development Administrative Assistant will provide secretarial services and maintain records essential to the provision of those services.
The position is a 35.5-hour work week. Evening and weekend work may be occasionally required. The position is full-time and eligible for benefits. Occasional travel will also be required.
Salary Range: $27,823 – $37,912

Position Location: This position is located at the Devore Administration Building in Carmi, IL.
Position Provisions: This position is provided with an agency credit card for business expenses and travel.
Position Accountabilities:
To be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of technology
To serve as receptionist to visitors and clients and to be able to interact with faith-based visitors and clients in dialogue related to the theological bases consistent with the religious values of BCHFS for the various BCHFS ministries.
To open and sort incoming mail for the agency, as well as handling outgoing mail for Development and Marketing, including when directed being the person to author oral and written responses.
To maintain the agency’s donor database with detailed and accurate recording of all monetary and in-kind gifts (individual, churches, memorials/honors, wills and estates).
To prepare and mail all donor correspondence including receipts and thank you cards.
To prepare and transmit daily bank deposits
Work with the Development team to prepare and mail – appeals, newsletter, event invitations and any other publications.
Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies and maintaining records.
To provide individual donors and churches with year-end giving reports upon request.
To connect churches with BCHFS speakers.
To provide the IL Baptist State Association and state associations with reports on church giving.
Assist the Director of Development and Marketing with assigned duties and special projects.
Position Qualifications
High School degree minimum; Associate degree preferred.
Customer service or administrative assistant experience.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to hold client and donor information in the strictest confidentiality.
