Summary:

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for performing HR- related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the Director of Human Resources. As the first point of contact for employees, the Human Resource Assistant provides support, guidance, and ensures compliance with regulations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, and employee relations. Performance Responsibilities:

Assist in the recruitment process, including screening phone calls to potential candidates and scheduling in-person interviews.
Orients new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; onboarding into Paycom; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs.
Serve as local administrator of the resorts HRIS program, POS software, and Hotel PMS.
Assist in the development of HR processes, policies, and systems.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; Periodically audits Forms I-9
Liaise with employees, supervisors, managers, co-workers in problem resolution.
Assist supervisors/management with the disciplinary process and documentation.
Assist in planning and coordinating special events and recognition programs for employees.
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR Department.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Proficient with MS Word & Excel
Prior retail/restaurant/food industry recruitment experience preferred.
High level of discretion with confidential material
1-2 years of HR experience including 1 year direct involvement in employee relations
Self-motivated, team player with excellent people skills.

Hours:

Monday through Friday
