Position Summary
Southwest Forensic Nursing and Healthcare (SWFN) is seeking a mission-driven, collaborative, and strategic Executive Director to lead our organization through its next phase of growth and impact. SWFN is a nonprofit committed to improving and expanding access to high-quality, trauma-informed, and patient-centered forensic healthcare for survivors affected by violence and underserved populations in the Southwest, specifically Washington and Iron Counties.
As the chief executive officer, the Executive Director will be responsible for operational leadership, organizational management, program sustainability, partnership development, and strategic direction. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director works closely with the Operations Director and senior leadership team to ensure the organization’s effectiveness, sustainability, and continued alignment with the values of equity, inclusion, and ethical care.This is a full-time hybrid position (40+ hours per week) with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
Lead the development and execution of long-term organizational strategies.
Partner with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance and clear communication.
Guide key initiatives and policy decisions in collaboration with team leadership.
Fundraising & Financial Stewardship
Oversee comprehensive fundraising strategies, including grants, campaigns, and donor relations.
Cultivate relationships with philanthropic partners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
Ensure responsible financial management in partnership with the Operations Director and Finance Committee.
Organizational Oversight
Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed, and legally compliant delivery of services.
Supervise and support leadership staff, with oversight of operations, HR, and regulatory compliance.
Use data and performance metrics to monitor program outcomes and inform decision-making.
Ensure programmatic compliance with grant certified assurances, regulatory bodies, audit potential, and established goals and objectives.
People & Culture
Participate in hiring and staffing decisions to support a skilled and diverse team.
Foster an inclusive and ethical workplace culture built on transparency and accountability.
Maintain effective personnel systems, policies, and performance management processes.
Advocacy & Community Engagement
Represent SWFN as a spokesperson in public, legislative, and community settings.
Build partnerships with service providers, survivors, coalitions, and policy leaders.
Advocate for systems-level change that supports survivors and expands access to care.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field
At least 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or public sector settings
Proven experience in fundraising, community partnerships, and stakeholder engagement
Deep understanding of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered services
Completion of UOVC Grant Management Training (or ability to complete upon hire)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience working in healthcare or violence prevention nonprofits
Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, GSuite, Microsoft Office, and grant compliance platforms
Knowledge of structural barriers impacting survivors and healthcare access
