The German Armed Forces Command United States and Canada is seeking to fill the position of an “Office Clerk” at the Reston duty station. This is a 40 hours per week full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Process incoming and outgoing mail of GEFORCOM USA/CAN leadership
Assist with preparing visits by national and international military and civilian agencies or delegations
Handle official correspondence (internal/external) in German and English
Manage the appointment calendar and monitor and coordinate appointments
Perform internal and external telecommunication tasks in German and English
Prepare and follow up on official TDY trips of GEFORCOM USA/CAN leadership, including coordination of TDY travel with agencies to be visited and initiation of required request-for-visit procedures as well as preparation of travel documentation
Process requests for budgetary funds for foreign entertainment expenses and maintain annual overview to monitor budgetary funds
Assist with presentations delivered by the Commander GEFORCOM USA/CAN in German and English
Prepare and follow up on meetings
Qualification requirements:
Required:
Business fluent in English and German, both spoken and written
Passing a background check and level “Ü1” security clearance vetting
Valid U.S. work and residence permit
Proficiency in using the MS Office standard software products
Desirable:
Successful completion of vocational training as an office manager or in the area of general administration (or similar) or several years of relevant practical work experience
The terms of employment, employer-provided benefits as well as duties of the employee will be in accordance with the Employment Agreements and the Policies and Procedures Manual for locally hired employees at Bundeswehr offices and agencies in the United States.
The starting salary in this position is $4.696,84 gross per month based on a 40 hours/week. Employer-provided benefits include, among other things, group health insurance, paid holidays, sick leave and paid vacation.
The hiring process will entail a background check and a level “Ü1” security vetting. By submitting the application, applicants give their consent to undergo the background check and the security vetting. Failure to pass the security vetting will result in ineligibility for employment in the position.
