Holtz Children’s Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the southeast United States, where UHealth – University of Miami Health System physicians treat children from throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Holtz Children’s is known worldwide for its care of critically ill newborns in its neonatal intensive care unit, which is one of the largest in the United States and boasts some of the best medical outcomes. In collaboration with the Miami Transplant Institute, Holtz Children’s is one of only three centers in the country that specializes in pediatric multi-organ transplants. It is home to one of only three state-accredited comprehensive children’s kidney failure centers and one of the largest pediatric kidney transplant programs in the world. The Children’s Heart Center at Holtz Children’s is the only comprehensive children’s heart program in South Florida. In partnership with the University of Miami, Holtz Children’s also trains the most pediatric physicians of any medical center in the southeastern United States.

Summary

The Office Coordinator is responsible on a daily basis for ensuring the smooth operation of the office, as well as providing support and reporting to the department Director.

The Office Coordinator works together with other team members to provide high quality and timely support to the work of the organization.

The Office Coordinator may assist in monitoring, assessing and identifying strategies to improve services, systems and process in the designated area.

This position will have a significant role in personnel administration and employee relations and may involve resolution of grievances and in providing input for collective bargaining. This position aids department management in a confidential capacity.

The incumbent may attend management meetings and may be involved directly or indirectly around confidential management decisions

Responsibilities

Conducts data entry in practice management and EMR system.

Manages the front desk. Responsible for managing patient referrals.

Regularly, processes medical records requests.

Retrieves messages. Manages office calendar.

Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience

Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience.

Education

High school diploma is required.

Credentials

Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
