Position Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive HR/Office Administrative Assistant to support our Human Resources and general office functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth daily operations and assisting in a wide range of HR and administrative tasks — including the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

Human Resources Support

Assist in the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
Maintain employee records (digital and hard copy).
Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries.
Help coordinate employee engagement activities and training sessions.

Payroll Administration

Process biweekly (or weekly) payroll accurately and on time.
Maintain payroll records and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and company policies.
Coordinate with accounting or external payroll service providers as needed.

Office Administration

Order and manage office supplies and equipment.
Coordinate meeting logistics, manage calendars, and support internal communication.
Help with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative or HR support role.
Familiarity with HR processes and employment regulations.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Prior experience in a small or mid-sized business environment.
Experience processing payroll, preferably using ADP.

Working Conditions:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On-site role at Kitchen Brains, Stratford, CT
