This position is located in Nash County. The Administrative Specialist I is responsible for processing information received from the Ignition Interlock Service Providers regarding the program participants and maintain incoming files. The position will also be responsible for answering inquiries about the interlock program and maintaining the filing system for the Division Ignition Interlock Oversight Program. This position is required to service customers that are required to have the Ignition Interlock restriction and thus requires a thorough working knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations related to driving privileges. This position should consistently demonstrate good legal knowledge, effective communication skills both verbal and written and proper decorum when dealing with all parties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:

Experience interpreting and explaining policy and procedures.
Experience entering and extracting information from mainframe and/or web-based computer systems.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Experience communicating in writing and orally explaining findings and facts to citizens, attorneys and government officials.
Experience gathering, researching, and analyzing data/information.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
