Office Manager/Administrative Assistant (1.0 FTE)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SALARY: $19.19 – $26.56/hr. Based on training and experience.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8 hrs/day when school is in session. 191 days to be worked between August 1 & July 30. Up to an additional 200 hours may be required for summer and after hours work. Total hours dependent on workload and availability.

PURPOSE: To assist an administrator to manage Muddy Creek Charter School, and serve as a leader in the areas of school operations, risk management, personnel, communications, and technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as the lead administrative clerical staff responsible for supporting the building administrator(s), leads all aspects of student health management, and promotes positive public relations for the charter school.

Effectively work with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.

Provides general clerical and support services for supervisor and/or department staff.

Provides positive customer service to all inquiries.

Exercises independent judgment to manage building operations in a manner consistent with administrative direction, district policies and procedures, and goals of the instructional program.

Assists the development of budgets, records, facilities, payroll and other business functions to ensure that building/program fiscal systems reflect district standards for quality and responsiveness to patrons, staff, and students.

Assists with building/program communications, both oral and written, in a manner that supports effective decision making and facilitates the work of other staff.

Maintains, stores, and retrieves information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard office systems, equipment, and software.

Assists with the hiring and on-boarding processes in the building/program.

Interprets policy, procedures, law, and contracts within district guidelines, for staff, students, parents, and others, in a timely and accurate fashion.

Leads the work of others, as assigned, in a manner that promotes team development and effective work.

Makes independent decisions, in response to requests for meetings or other commitments, to maximize the efficient use of administrative time.

Represents administrators, as assigned, in communications with staff, parents, the public, and students to facilitate issue resolution, provide accurate information, and support effective program management.

Supervises students outside the classroom, as assigned, to support the district’s discipline and instructional programs.

Performs minor medical and health procedures as requested in a manner which meets state and district guidelines.

Provides other related services as assigned.

Perform duties in a courteous and efficient manner that builds the confidence of staff, students, and the public in the Corvallis School District and enhances learning.

Observe laws, district policies and procedures, and professional standards for the position.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, students and the public; work collaboratively as a team member.

Maintain regular attendance at work and work activities and is punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedule.
