Salary Range: Up to $27.00 per hour
Hours: 19 hours per week

Essential Functions
Job Summary
Plan and assist in the coordination of the business management, administrative, and staff services of a college or large and complex department/area.
Core Responsibilities
Responsible for the administrative processing of fiscal and personnel matters, and other administrative activities essential to the operation of the college or department requiring independent decision-making skills.
Supports all administrative operations of the department.
Ensures financial compliance by reconciling accounts, prepares reports and cost analyses, and monitors expenditures.
Maintains personnel records for faculty and staff.
Acts as a liaison with other University departments regarding grants, research, budgets, registration, and other administrative issues.
Coordinates and completes special projects as needed.
Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
Performs work tasks in a safe manner and following work instructions.
Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate or GED.
Twelve (12) years of increasingly responsible experience in administration or business management with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
At the department’s discretion, a Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for seven (7) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
Similar experience in higher education.
Thorough knowledge of University administrative structure, policies and procedures.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Tact, diplomacy, and judgment are necessary in dealing with others.
Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.

Working Conditions
Working Environment:
Office environment.
Physical Demands:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position primarily works remotely in Texas but may work on campus on an infrequent basis (approximately four days or less per month). When an employee is required to work on campus, travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
