We are seeking an individual to join the School Children’s Trust team and support the distribution of millions of dollars annually to Utah’s Public Schools through the implementation of the School LAND Trust program. The School Children’s Trust team works closely with parent-led councils at each school who decide how to use the funds to address their students’ academic needs.
This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the School LAND Trust program and serving as the primary point of contact for participating schools’ stakeholders, such as superintendents, business administrators, principals, and school council members. This job requires knowledge of the laws and policies related to the program, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to provide support to stakeholders. General office responsibilities are shared by the small team. This position reports directly to the School Children’s Trust Director at the Utah State Board of Education.
Principal Duties
Provides Information and Support:
Handles initial inquiries via a group email and phone, directing them appropriately.
Provides support and guidance to stakeholders, including LEA staff, school personnel, and school councils, on all aspects of administering the School LAND Trust program at the local level. This includes assisting with online reporting and navigating the School LAND Trust website.
Provides support to the School Children’s Trust Team, as needed.
Coordinates and Acts as a Liaison
Collects documents, schedules training, compliance reviews, and other meetings.
Sends mass communications after team drafting.
Manages FINET transactions (ordering, printer contract).
Maintains Mailchimp and Outlook contact lists.
Supports advisory committee to the Utah State Board of Education (monthly hybrid meetings, agendas, minutes, emails, travel reimbursements).
Creates, Manages and Reviews
Prepares, processes, and reviews documents for accuracy and policy compliance.
Provides proofreading and feedback for training materials.
Participates in compliance reviews of school and LEA requirements and responsibilities.
Manages record retention, surplus and inventory tracking.
Data and Reporting
Tracks deadlines for training, compliance, and other documents.
Retrieves status queries of required school and LEA reporting.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Excellent organizational skills: The ability to manage tasks efficiently, prioritize effectively, and maintain organized records.
Adaptability and flexibility: The ability to adjust to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks in a small office, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of the School LAND Trust Program: Previous experience with or a thorough understanding of the School LAND Trust Program.
Proficiency in common computer applications: Experience using software such as Microsoft 365, Google Suite, Zoom, YouTube, and Mailchimp.

Preference may be given to an applicant:
With experience with the School LAND Trust Program, School Community Councils/or Charter Trust Land Councils.
Who can provide examples of their experience organizing and overseeing multiple operations and multiple groups of stakeholders.
