Requirements
- Troubleshooting and handling requests across the various platforms and database engines we manage.
- Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL database engines.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database administration (IaaS/PaaS), preferably GCP or Azure.
- Database monitoring (Standalone, RAC, and Standby).
- Database performance tuning and analysis.
- Script execution.
- Database access and privilege management.
- Administration and/or use of tools such as Oracle Cloud Control, Microsoft SCOM, and Zabbix.
- Reviewing infrastructure and application performance issues.
- Knowledge of Oracle DataGuard, Sql Server Always ON, Mysql and PostgreSQL Master/Slave replication.
- Database upgrade and patching.
- Knowledge of database platform migrations.
- Knowledge of data cleansing strategies for large databases.
- Knowledge of replication and high availability solutions for Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL database engines.
- Backup and recovery of Databases.
- Database maintenance tasks (table defragmentation/index recreation/tablespace reconstruction).
- Database installation and configuration.
- Knowledge and experience with replication schemes using Oracle Golden Gate.
- Availability to participate in rotating on-call shifts and special after-hours activities.
