the order entry clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing customer order information. This role involves receiving orders, verifying information, and entering data, while coordinating with other departments to ensure timely fulfillment. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.
primary responsibilities:
verify order information, including product specifications, quantities, pricing, and shipping addresses in erp system.
accurately and efficiently enter order details into the erp system.
generate sales orders and other related documentation.
research and resolve order errors and update the system as needed.
communicate with customers on shipping projections and deliver tracking information.
maintain organized records of customer orders and related documentation.
assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, data entry, and reporting.
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
basic understanding of order processing procedures.
familiarity with computer systems and data entry software.
accurate and efficient data entry skills.
excellent verbal and written communication skills.
strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
willingness and aptitude to learn industry and product-specific terminology.
education
and experience:
high school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year of proven experience in order entry, customer service, or a related field. Experience in a manufacturing industry is a plus.
familiarity in using computer systems and software, including mrp, erp, or crm systems.
physical demands:
ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
ability to use hands and fingers for typing and data entry.
ability to speak clearly and concisely.
may occasionally be required to lift and/or carry light objects (e.g., files, paperwork).
