We are seeking a Primary Receptionist (Office Specialist 2) to join our Linn Co. ODHS program team.

What you need to qualify
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate’s degree in any field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Previous Administrative experience with working knowledge of office procedures.
Experience utilizing time management, and prioritization skills to track and complete tasks.
Experience listening and to understanding people’s values, needs, desires, and even their trauma-responses.
Experience answering multi-line phones and directing calls to the appropriate staff.
Experience conducting work that requires attention to detail, particularly when creating or reviewing documents.
Demonstrated ability to input and retrieve data from different computer programs.

As a Primary Receptionist, you will:
Provide phone and reception support for the agency and answers, directs calls and inquiries as appropriate in a timely and respectful manner.
Greet clients, public and other agency officials at the front reception desk, providing assistance as needed, notify appropriate staff of client’s arrivals and direct visitors to appropriate meeting rooms.
Distribute client gas vouchers and bus passes, obtaining necessary signatures and maintains daily log of vouchers issued.
Support caseworkers through administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning and saving documents into the case file cabinets, distributing mail, maintaining office labels and information lists for the office.
Attend unit and staff meetings.
Working conditions
This position will be required to work in the office 8-5 Monday-Friday.
Travel may be required to meet the business or operational needs and/or employee training.
Occasional evening hours may be required dependent on business needs.
You will sit for long periods at a computer terminal.
You are expected to work competently within the agency’s electronic information system (ORKIDS).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential.
Regular attendance and teamwork are a necessary part of this position.
This position may be stressful at times as you manage unexpected deadlines, process time sensitive information, work with multiple manuals, policies, forms, partner agencies and community partners.
You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
