Position Summary
Ogletree Deakins’ Indianapolis, IN office has an opportunity for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its national labor and employment practice. In this role, the Paralegal will perform interesting, sophisticated, and substantive billable work to support the Firm’s attorneys and Fortune 500 clients. This position will be a key client contact for a dedicated group of Fortune 500 clients and will collaborate with attorneys and other senior-level paralegals to support this nationwide litigation practice.

Essential Functions
Research law, investigate facts, and independently prepare documents to assist attorneys with matters brought in state and federal courts and with administrative agencies.
Summarize complex legal documents.
Maintain, organize and index complex case files.
e-File pleadings with state and federal courts.
Prepare correspondence.
Draft a wide variety of legal documents, including notices, subpoenas, declarations, and form pleadings.
Cite check briefs and prepare supporting exhibits.
Assist with document collection, review, and production.
Provide attorney support for hearing and deposition preparation.
Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Provide attorney support during trials and arbitrations.
Communicate with witnesses and experts.
Assist with scheduling and coordinate with the docketing team.
Record and enter billable time in a timely manner.
Coordinate major projects or cases, some of which may involve the work of multiple paralegals.
Requirements
Paralegal certification from an accredited program or a Bachelor’s degree.
10+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Results oriented and superb time management skills.
Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw, Intapp, Live Note, Casemap, Time Map, Trial Director, Relativity, iManage or other document management systems, expense and billing systems.
