About us

CompTech IT Solutions are a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based on the Fylde Coast, supporting local businesses, schools, and non-profits with IT support, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and project delivery.

We’re friendly, practical, and customer-focused and we’re looking for someone who can help keep the day-to-day admin and operations running smoothly as we grow.

Role overview

This is a non-technical administrative role supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. You’ll support our managers and technicians by keeping requests, paperwork, quotes/orders, supplier updates, and project admin organised and up to date.

You’ll act as an internal coordination point for information and communication, helping organise documentation, arrange meetings and support customer communications where required.

You’ll also support smooth back-office operations keeping quotes, purchase orders, renewals and invoicing inputs organised, and helping us document and improve workflows as we grow. HR and bookkeeping are handled by our dedicated HR and Finance team; your role is to support with accurate admin and coordination.

Key responsibilities

1) Administration and team support

  • Provide administrative support to managers and technicians, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars and preparing documents
  • Answer, screen and direct incoming calls and emails to the appropriate team member or service desk
  • Prepare and distribute internal and client-facing correspondence, reports and meeting notes
  • Maintain electronic (and where needed physical) filing systems so information is easy to retrieve
  • Support the organisation of staff training, client meetings and company events (logistics and preparation of materials)
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve business operational processes (templates, checklists, and “how we do it” guides) in collaboration with the Management Team and HR/Finance
  • Support basic marketing/admin tasks such as updating templates, helping prepare client communications, and creating simple visuals in Canva (as needed)

2) Service operations support

  • Log incoming service requests in the system and ensure all relevant information is recorded for triage by the technical team
  • Assist with preparing and sending customer updates or communications as requested by the team
  • Keep internal records accurate and up to date (client details, assets, contracts, licences and supplier information)

  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times

3) Procurement, suppliers and office coordination

  • Assist with procurement of IT equipment and licences, liaising with suppliers and tracking orders, deliveries, returns and warranties
  • Help manage office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office and IT equipment as required
  • Support supplier administration (maintaining documentation, order confirmations, delivery updates)

4) Sales and billing administration support

  • Support sales administration by preparing client quotes, formatting proposal documents and preparing invoices for review and approval
  • Assist with basic tracking of renewals, orders and billing inputs to help ensure information is complete and up to date

5) Project support

  • Support project set-up and admin, including preparing checklists, task lists and project documentation
  • Arrange project meetings and support preparation of materials or notes where required
  • Support project paperwork such as purchase orders, delivery tracking and handover documentation

Skills, experience and qualifications

Essential

  • GCSEs (including English and Maths) essential; A-Levels or equivalent desirable
  • 1–2 years’ experience in an administrative role (IT provider/MSP or professional services experience is a plus)
  • Strong IT literacy: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Microsoft 365 and Teams helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience preparing quotes, proposals or invoices
  • Familiarity with PSA/ticketing tools (e.g., Autotask, ConnectWise, HaloPSA or similar)
  • Experience supporting procurement, asset tracking or supplier management
  • Basic understanding of IT terminology and services
  • Experience supporting basic marketing tasks (e.g., Canva, social posts, simple email templates) would be helpful
  • Experience with Co-Pilot / Claude / ChatGPT and Prompt Knowledge

Working pattern and flexibility

This is a part-time role for 20 hours per week. We are flexible on how the hours are worked (for example 4 hours per day across 5 days). Some core availability will be agreed for customer and team coverage.
