General Description

Under the guidance of the Medical Administrative Director, the Patient Administration Specialist will be responsible for managing patient information, assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating patient admissions and discharges, and ensuring the accuracy of patient records. This position works closely with providers, patients, and the finance team to provide efficient and effective patient care. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive patient experience through efficient administrative support.

How You Will Fulfill Your Mission

Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA regulations in handling patient information and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on privacy and security requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and contract information.

Coordinate patient encounters including completing necessary paperwork and ensuring a smooth transition of care.

Verify contract and project strings for procedures and services.

Assist with billing inquiries.

Respond to patient inquiries and requests for information in a timely and professional manner.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination.

Develop and implement an in-house audit program to ensure proper handling of patient records.

Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Specific Knowledge/Certification Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software.

Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in healthcare administration
