Patient Support Coordinator I

Location: Manhattan Bach, CA 90266 (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Duration: 13-week contract (with potential for extension)

Pay Rate: $22.00–$30.00/hour

Position Summary

The Support Coordinator I is responsible for delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support within a busy outpatient healthcare clinic. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and plays an essential role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate scheduling, and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in/check-out process
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments across multiple providers and specialties
  • Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls, addressing patient inquiries and routing messages appropriately
  • Perform patient registration, insurance data entry, and encounter documentation within EMR/EHR systems
  • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-ups as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
  • Support daily clinic preparation, including organizing schedules and ensuring operational readiness
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow and service delivery
  • Assist with additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or customer service environment
  • Experience in front desk operations, patient scheduling, or patient access functions
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and basic computer applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to patient service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a specialty clinic (e.g., orthopedics or similar)
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, referrals, and authorization processes
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred)
  • Prior experience in a patient access center or care coordination role

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
