SUMMARY:
Assists patients and providers with coordinating of referrals, obtaining authorizations and scheduling. This position is also responsible for understanding benefits coverage and ensures patient’s care is coordinated. Additionally, partnering with the provider in the office and working together to promote the practice in the area with other local physicians and assisted living centers to ensure growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices and/or departments.

• Obtaining necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and

• Use guidelines for electronic medical records.

• May coordinate and prepare financial estimates for patients.

• Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.

• Reviews benefits and educates patient on insurance coverage.

• Coordinates and schedules diagnostic testing or other services.

• Reviews and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.

• Follows up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.

• Phone answering and appointment scheduling using company scheduling protocols and scheduling database software.

• Execute routine bank deposits and credit transactions.

• Greet all patients in a friendly manner, seeking referrals. Understand current marketing promotions.

• Work with insurance to determine patient specific coverage and understand current HIPAA laws.

• Conduct credit application calls with vendors as needed.

• Maintain clean officework environment.

• Work with specialist to ensure excellent patient care and exceed monthly office goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Computer experience required.

• At least one-year relevant experience and/or training.

• EMR experience preferred.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Strongmulti-taskingskills.

• Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills.

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
