Job Summary

Gorham Sand & Gravel, Inc. is looking for an administrative assistant for our main office in Buxton. This person will be well spoken and polite both in person and on the phone. This person will be detail oriented and able to prioritize their tasks based on the workload in front of them.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and greeting visitors
Handle incoming and outgoing mail
Provide clerical support such as filing, data entry, and document preparation
Utilize Microsoft Office for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
Assist with planning and execution of company meetings and special events
Organize and maintain inventory of office supplies and maintain an orderly workspace
Assist customers with phone sales orders and aggregate pickups
Invoice account customers and follow up with past due accounts
Organize, file and reconcile driver material logs
Assist with social media posting and engagement
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the office

Qualifications and Skills

Previous administrative/office experience
Basic knowledge of accounting and filing software, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Able to operate a simple business phone system to answer, communicate with, and transfer callers
The ability to learn new skills to better serve the customers and coworkers
Experience with social media and company branding is a plus
Experience in the construction or earthwork industry is a plus
