Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support Physical Therapists in delivering patient-centered care and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will assist with therapeutic interventions, patient education, and administrative tasks to enhance patient outcomes and overall physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Support:
• Assist in implementing treatment plans to improve patient mobility and strength.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities under supervision.
• Monitor and document patient progress and report concerns to the supervising PT.
Patient Education & Support:
• Educate patients and families on exercises and therapeutic procedures.
• Guide the use of assistive devices and promote adherence to treatment plans.
Equipment & Facility Management:
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment.
• Assist with therapy supply inventory and organization.
Administrative & Coordination Support:
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and records.
• Help with billing, insurance documentation, and patient communications.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and contribute to care planning.
• Effectively communicate with patients and families regarding treatment progress.
Professional Development:
• Stay current with advances in physical therapy techniques.
• Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Clinical experience in diverse settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
