Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Durango Police Department as a Police Administrative Specialist. In this role, you’ll perform a diverse range of clerical and administrative work. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial formaintaining accurate records, tracking purchasing orders, processing contracts, reviewing department schedules, and ensuring timely processes. Essential Job Duties

What You’ll Do in This Role:

Track and report officer training and certifications, ensuring timely compliance with city, state, and federal requirements.

Perform a wide range of general clerical tasks and comprehensive data entry, including but not limited to maintaining accurate and detailed department records, filing systems, lists, and manuals.

Assist with accounts payable tasks and monitoring department budgeting by reviewing invoices for accuracy and tracking spending within the training, uniform, office supplies, and miscellaneous budget line items.

Support the management of contracted services by processing contracts and memos for contract payments.

Maintain and update department calendars and scheduling.

Contribute to informed, data-driven decision making by compiling information for quarterly reports.

Minimum Qualifications

You Have:

Equivalent to completion of high school or GED.

Post-secondary training in administrative work is preferred.

Two years of general clerical experience.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry.

Skill in tracking records and supplies using specialized software or self-created systems, such as forms, spreadsheets, and databases.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and reference information efficiently.

Commitment to collaborating and maintaining positive working relationships.
