Purpose of the Role:

The Pretrial Program Specialist works to ensure smooth and effective operational functioning andcommunicationwith criminal justice personnel, other departments, and staff. This position offers an opportunity to gain program administrative experience, as well as broad exposure to behavioral health programming within a criminal justice non-profit organization.

Essential Functions of the Role:

Receive and screen telephone calls and answer program inquiries via phone, email or mail

Provide triage support and direct assistance to program participants as needed.

As assigned by the Team Leader, assist with the scheduled system of appointment reminders, to help ensure participants receive timely notification of upcoming supervision contacts and court appearances.

Perform data entry to enroll participants in Supervised Release, including legal information, demographic information, enter appointment attendance and other program information into the database as needed, ensuring accuracy.

Enter participant data into the database including pretrial supervision track, compliance with supervision appointments, re-arrest information, and case outcomes.

Complete and prepare for submission compliance documentation needed for the Courts

Run demographic reports and retrieve other program data from databases for reporting purposes using excel pivot tables.

Complete databasequality assuranceaudits to ensure program data is entered according to program standards and timeliness.

Assist with program operational logistics as needed.

Complete re-arrest checks using the CRIMS system and provide quarterly data toStrategic Planningand Analysis unit.

Provide specific administrative and program support to other members of Supervised Release supervisory staff as needed, including scheduling meetings, assisting in set-up and preparation for special events, literature search, photocopying and compiling materials.

Decision Making Authority:

Decisions regarding Pretrial Services are to be made with guidance andcollaborationof the Director to whom the Pretrial staff is assigned. It is expected that the Pretrial Specialist will show an increasing ability to make decisions independently on routine matters as knowledge and experience progresses.

Internal:
Pretrial Supervisor, Pretrial staff, Director of Criminal Justice,

External:
Dept. of Social Services, Mental Health Providers, Primary Care Physicians, Parole Officers, Legal Services, District Attorney’s Office, Court Officials, Police Departments, etc.

Work Schedule:Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with someflexibilityaround client needs.

Physical Environment:

Traditional office environment.

Must be comfortable attending appointments at various courts, agencies, facilities and client’s homes.

Physical Demands:Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and carry up to 20 lbs.

Mental and Visual Demands:Flow of work and nature of duties involve normal coordination of mind and eyes much of the time.
