Product & Operations Manager Jobs in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia at Sigmaschool

Title: Product & Operations Manager

Company: Sigmaschool

Location: Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia

About Sigmo

Sigmo is building the learning platform for the AI-native generation. We believe education is broken. Too many people spend years chasing certificates, watching tutorials, and still end up without real skills, real confidence, or real career outcomes.

Sigmo exists to change that. We are building a new kind of learning experience where students don’t just consume content. They build, ship, get feedback, level up, and become capable of creating real products with AI.

Our vision is to become the operating system for career transformation in the AI era.

The Role

We are hiring a Product Manager to help own Sigmo as a product. This is not a corporate PM role where you only write specs, attend meetings, and manage timelines. This is a hands-on startup role. You will be expected to think like a mini-CEO of the product, but also be willing to get deep into the details.

Your job is simple: Make Sigmo work.

That means understanding our students, finding what is broken, writing clear specs, coordinating with engineers, testing releases, improving user flows, tracking product metrics, and making sure Sigmo becomes a product students actually use, love, and complete.

You will work directly with the founder and the product/engineering team to turn Sigmo from a promising platform into a world-class learning product.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the student journey from signup to course completion
  • Reviewing Sigmo constantly and identifying bugs, confusing flows, broken pages, weak UX, or missing pieces
  • Turning messy product problems into clear priorities, specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Managing the weekly product release process
  • Working with engineers and designers to ship improvements quickly
  • Testing features before and after release
  • Improving onboarding, lessons, missions, XP, progress tracking, submissions, feedback loops, and student engagement
  • Talking to students and internal teams to understand where learners get stuck
  • Maintaining the product backlog and making sure engineers are clear on what to build and why
  • Tracking product metrics such as activation, lesson completion, mission submission, and engagement
  • Making sure features are shipped properly, tested properly, and actually useful
  • Helping Sigmo become more AI-native, not just a normal LMS with AI features added on

You are successful if:

  • Sigmo improves every week
  • Product releases happen consistently
  • Students know exactly what to do next inside Sigmo
  • More students complete lessons, missions, and projects
  • Bugs, confusing flows, and product gaps get spotted and fixed quickly
  • Engineers are clear on what to build and why
  • The founder does not need to chase every product detail
  • Sigmo feels simpler, smoother, and more motivating over time

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is sharp, practical, and high-ownership. You should be someone who can look at a messy product, understand what matters, and push the team toward a better version fast.

Ideally, you have:

  • Product management, project management, QA, design, engineering, or startup experience
  • Strong product taste and attention to detail
  • Ability to write clearly and structure messy ideas
  • Good UX sense, especially around user flows and learning experiences
  • Basic technical understanding, even if you are not a full-time engineer
  • Comfort working with developers and translating product ideas into clear requirements
  • Strong execution skills and follow-through
  • Interest in education, AI, software, careers, or learning products

You do not need to be a strong engineer, but you must be technical enough to work effectively with engineers. You should understand basics like:

  • Frontend vs backend vs database
  • GitHub issues, pull requests, and releases
  • Staging vs production
  • Bug reports and acceptance criteria
  • Basic analytics and product metrics
  • How to use AI tools to write specs, audit flows, and speed up your work

Bonus points if you have:

  • Built or shipped a product before
  • Worked in an early-stage startup
  • Used AI tools deeply in your own workflow
  • Experience with coding bootcamps, edtech, LMS platforms, or developer tools
  • Basic familiarity with tools like Figma, Linear, Notion, GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar
  • Some ability to prototype, inspect, or debug simple product issues

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not a role for someone who only wants to strategize.
  • This is not a role for someone who waits for perfect instructions.
  • This is not a role for someone who avoids messy execution.
  • This is not a pure engineering role.
  • This is not a corporate PM role where you manage timelines but don’t own outcomes.
  • We need someone who can think, write, test, coordinate, follow up, and ship.

Why Join Us

You will be joining at an important stage. Sigmo already has a real business behind it through Sigmaschool, with students, revenue, curriculum, and a clear market need. But the product is still early enough that your work will directly shape what it becomes.

You will have the chance to build a product that helps people change careers, learn real skills, and become AI-native builders.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants ownership, responsibility, and a front-row seat in building an education company for the AI era.
