The mission of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans.
What We Do:
OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.
What You’ll Do:
Works under administrative supervision in order to act for the Director of Quality Management as the Compliance Administrator; providing leadership and coordination of training and tracers for The Joint Commission (TJC) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards compliance: plans, directs and interprets tracers; interprets collected tracer data and translates to actionable recommendations to Director and when approved disseminates the recommendations to SBH leadership and staff; provides leadership and coordination and implementation of TJC National Patient Safety Goals and monitoring measures of success. Conducts education and training on compliance related issues and updates as needed to ensure SBH leadership and staff remain cognizant of expectations from accrediting agencies; works closely with all hospital disciplines to ensure knowledge and continued compliance toward meeting compliance and maintaining accreditation.
Works with SBH committees/teams to prepare for/coordinate/educate on /monitor for compliance. Assists with planning and implementation of the hospital’s Patient Safety, QA/PI and Workplace Violence Prevention programs; participates in hospital’s committees as needed; monitors data provided by Peer Review RNs or committees and coordinates with the Director to ensure compliance is being maintained. In Director’s absence, provides supervision to department staff.
Collects, analyzes, distributes and manages quality assurance, quality improvement and compliance data; works with the respective hospital committee(s) on all hospital-wide data to be collected and analyzed. Works with the identified hospital department heads, improvement teams, MSEC, and/or EC and other entities on utilizing data for specific improvements and/or to monitor for common cause or specific cause variations. Works with department heads and improvement teams in designing and implementing new processes and/or procedures for improvement.
