Normal Work Schedule:Various times between Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Additional Department Summary:The Field Site Aide assists teachers, University faculty, and Project Assistants in the counties where clubs exist. Assists the Principal Investigator in communicating with local governing boards, teachers, students, and parents associated with HSTA-AL. Assists with recordkeeping and staffing the clubs and summer institutes for students and teachers. Serves as a liaison with the club teachers. Organizes local governing board meetings and records minutes.
Monitors allocation of funds to the clubs and track budgeted amounts and expenditures. Helps advertise the program to middle school students by visiting schools that feed into the targeted high schools. Assists HSTA-AL students with organizing and gathering needed supplies for their research projects. Arranges for special speakers at club and board meetings as needed. Coordinates special shadowing opportunities for students and teachers as relevant.
Arranges mentoring opportunities for students with local governing board contacts including community leaders, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications:Associate’s degree and some experience.
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and relationships related to Hale County and/or Pickens County.
