Front Desk /Night Auditor

Assistant General Manager/General Manager January 2020

The Front Desk/Night Auditor is a primary contact for a variety of guest services and is responsible for providing all guests with friendly and knowledgeable interaction and the timely and efficient delivery of exceptional services. The Front Desk/Night Auditor is also responsible for balancing all daily hotel accounts and compiling daily sales figures. Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality, social demeanor and appearance that contributes to a hospitable environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide pleasant and professional services to all guests.

2. Perform check-in and check-out services, properly record sales transactions and secure accurate payment, coordinating taxi services, answer telephones, take guest room reservations, monitor room availability, run reports, handle guest mail and messages, program wake-up calls, and perform a variety of other tasks conducive to the efficient operation of the front office and to providing all hotel guests with exceptional hotel services.

3. Report daily sales figures by completing appropriate reports and forwarding to proper personnel.

Ensure the hotel PMS system is in balance with the reservations system and seek out and correct any discrepancies.

5. Be knowledgeable of the hours of operation of all hotel services and aggressively sell such services.

6. Assist in checking all lobby fixtures, equipment, and conditions (lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for

proper operation, settings, and maintenance. Write and submit maintenance work orders as needed.

7. Comply with safety and security procedures that protect associates, guests and company assets.

8. Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with all departments with the aim of achieving high levels of

cooperation and service excellence.

9. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the front office, lobby, and surrounding areas.

10. Properly maintain all work equipment, tools and supplies.

11. Respond to guest requests and inquiries with appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy while upholding business

goals.

12. Responsible for knowing and complying with all items on the position’s training checklist.

13. Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.

14. Perform any assigned task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.

WORK CONDITIONS

Work is performed indoors with infrequent work performed outdoors in providing guest assistance. Lobby floor presents slippery conditions, especially when wet. Pace of business varies from slow and quiet to fast and hectic.

QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English is required.

Must be able to provide, receive, and comprehend verbal and written instructions and information.

Must be friendly, reliable, and assertive with the ability to maintain poise under pressure.

Must be able to work independently or with others.

Proper social demeanor, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and passion for serving others is essential.

Must be able to process information through computer systems.

Experience using spreadsheet software is preferred.

Must be able to move or handle items (such as guest luggage, carts, etc) generally weighing 0-40 lbs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
