POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs administrative support activities for related Community Education programs. Duties include fielding telephone calls and emails, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and training of LKC staff and site administrators. Requires strong computer and Internet research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Answer, screen and direct incoming calls and emails, fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions.
Works in cooperation with all departments to provide support as needed.
Works independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects.
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks as needed to support operations of the Community Education Department.
Organizes appointments and meetings
Prepare and distribute correspondence
Create and maintain databases
Organize registration, retrieval, transfer and removal of records
Liaise with all departments to coordinate efforts for successful events
Research and correspond with new businesses
Validates programs as necessary
Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Education, Certifications & Experience
A.A./A.S. in Management or related field-(required) B.A/B.S in Management or related field (preferred).
2+ years as an administrative assistant or in other secretarial position preferred.
Professional Skills & Experience:
Child Care administrative experience preferred.
Customer service experience required.
Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
Behavioral Competencies:
Ability to work independently, prioritize daily workload, manage multiple projects, work under pressure and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
Ability to multitask and high level verbal and written communications skills.
Attention to detail is an essential skill.
Discretion and confidentiality is required.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:
The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.
PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
Local and in-state travel required.
