Full Job Description

This position provides reception to the ARCHES Navigation Center location. Many of the clients of the Navigation Center are chronically homeless and experiencing barriers to service engagement. Join our Navigation Center team in supporting and helping those in need of resources to help them get back on their feet.

The reception duties will include greeting and signing in guests and residents and providing supportive clerical work. Responsibilities include: answering phones, scheduling appointments, data collection & entry, assisting clients with navigation to resources, handling mail, and other special projects as needed.

Candidates must submit applications by 04/01 to be considered for first-round interviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus 2 years of experience in customer service or office related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Some knowledge of accessing community resources preferred but not required.

Preference given to applicants who have knowledge of/or experience working with the homeless, vulnerable or at-risk populations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Driver qualification status is not required for this position.

Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.

Food Handler’s Card or ability to obtain within 60 days.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Requires basic proficiencies in MS Office products and database software.

Must possess excellent customer service skills, including knowledge regarding email use/etiquette.

Effective interpersonal communication skills, in both written and oral form.

Exhibits a positive attitude and engages with others in a cooperative and supportive manner.

Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and empathy when communicating with clients, staff and program partners.

Bilingual English-Spanish capabilities may be required depending on the needs of the program. To qualify as bilingual, staff must possess demonstrated abilities to speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish and English and pass a bilingual test. Bilingual staff may receive a pay differential based on program language needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Greets and assists visitors and residents, ensures that all are greeted promptly, and listens to confirm understanding and provide direction in a professional, calm demeanor. Follows agency dress code, and presents in a professional manner.

Assists residents in accessing applicable personnel and/or resources available.

Performs clerical support such as answering, phones, data entry, copying, scanning and faxing, and handling mail.

Maintains resident records and databases as requested, ensuring strict confidentiality.

Performs light cleaning duties such as disinfecting surfaces and taking out garbage.

Maintains a clean and organized working environment.
