Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team! The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks at our marina.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable: Manage and process invoices for marina supplies and services. Process payments and ensure timely collection of receivables. Handle accounts payable including vendor invoices, utility bills, and other expenses.

Bank Reconciliation: Coordinate with accounting team to reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

General Ledger Maintenance: Record journal entries for income and expenses. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly categorized and documented.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the accounting department.

Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll administration including processing timesheets and distributing checks to employees.

Compliance and Regulation: Stay informed about relevant accounting regulations and assist with audits as needed.

Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the marina management team as needed. Assist with filing, recordkeeping, and other clerical tasks.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Previous experience in bookkeeping or administrative experience preferred

Previous experience marine industry experience preferred

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Dockmaster, etc.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently, or with a team, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.

Experience with payroll processing and inventory management is a plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
